About this record
Proto house from 1989. Easy to get in the US hard to get in the EU. Grab that one for some real old school heat.
Baby Ford's "Children Of The Revolution" sits at that crucial intersection where acid house and deep house were still figuring each other out. Released on Sire in the first month of the decade, this maxi-single captures the sound of warehouse floors and early rave culture at a moment when the underground was still genuinely underground. The track builds on stripped-back synth work and rolling acid lines that feel deliberately restrained compared to what would come later - there's space to breathe here, room for the dancefloor to move.
Ford's work from this period defined a sound that others would chase for years. This 12" remains a reference point for anyone serious about understanding how acid house evolved into deeper, more atmospheric territory. A proper piece of history that's stayed scarce in Europe for too long.
