DJ in a hurry?

If you need to collect an online order outside these store hours, our office right behind the shop can usually help, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00. See our in-store collection page for how it works.

We are normally in the office Monday to Friday 0900-1800, so in a musical or DJ-equipment emergency ring the doorbell even if we are closed or give us a call and of course we will try and help.

220 Torstrasse is more than a great record store, it's our home

220 Torstrasse is also home to our label office, photo studio and warehouse, and it is where we produce a lot of our own merchandise. We are proud to be part of Berlin's record store scene.

If you buy a T-shirt in the store, it was almost certainly made in the office behind the shop, quite possibly by the person serving you.

Inside the SEVEN Community Record Store, Berlin

Our House & Techno Collection

Jonny Mojo, curator of the main collection of records available at SEVEN Community Record Store.

Our collection is curated by Jonny Mojo and is focussed around House, Tech House, Techno, Minimal, Progressive House.

We have a FLINTA* Finds crate highlighting music from FLINTA* producers you might not know, plus dedicated crates for some of our favourite labels. Berlin friends are in the Family & Friends crate, and we have Staff Picks recommendations from all of the team here.

The House & Techno collection is rounded off by a special crate of Ambient and World Music curated by our wonderful Rachel Noon.

You can see our full collection online in our online store if you are looking for something specific.

You will find dedicated crates for labels like Berg Audio, Big Trouble Records, Cabaret, Dekmantel, Different Times, Kalahari Oyster Cult, Kompakt and Partisan. Plus the full discography of our in-house labels SEVEN, A.2AUM and PRNCPTL.

We also keep a small collection of second-hand records, some individually priced and a bunch at €3 and €5. We will grow that second-hand collection over time, but for now it is fairly small, so we are primarily a store for current releases.

Four Vinyl Listening Stations plus CD & Cassette

One of the Vinyl listening stations at the SEVEN Community Record Store

We have four Vinyl listening stations, all seated so you can listen in comfort, plus a cassette listening station and a CD listening station.

All turntables are, of course, Technics SL-1200 Mk7 with Ortofon cartridges and Sennheiser HD25 headphones.

The two pink listening stations have phono pre-amps and headphone amps by the UK audio specialist Graham Slee Audio. The two in the window have an integrated phono stage and headphone amp from Douk Audio. We take good care of all four of them and test and clean them every day to make sure you have a great experience.

When we designed our store we really wanted it to feel homely, somewhere you can come and listen to music without being in a rush. We always offer free soft drinks and coffee and we have a gender-neutral bathroom and a changing room for trying on clothes.

Gifts for DJs and Merch from Berlin's local collectives

While records are our main focus, we also have a full range of merchandise from our own SEVEN brand, plus exclusive collaborations with local collectives like M.A.S., Puddings, PRNCPTL and Layers.

We have T-shirts, caps, keyrings, hoodies, badges and pins: a perfect collection if you are looking for a gift for yourself or someone else, or if you just want to support your local scene and favourite collective.

DJ Tools & DJ Equipment

DJ tools and equipment at the SEVEN Store

With most of the SEVEN team being working DJs and producers, you should expect us to be a great place to find the things DJs need.

We are an Ortofon authorised dealer and always have Ortofon cartridges in stock. Same with the Sennheiser HD25: you can always pop in and grab a new or replacement pair.

We also have Ethernet hubs for networking your CDJs, plus probably Berlin's biggest in-store range of audio connectors and adapters. Just ask: we keep over 100 different cables and adapters in stock, everything from Phono/RCA/Cinch cables to USB cables, XLR cables and adapters, plus all sorts of obscure stuff. Need a TOSLink cable? Or a USB hub? We have it.

SanDisk is our chosen brand for USB sticks and we have super fast, ultra-reliable sticks in stock at 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. We can format them for you in advance and give advice on which to choose (we did a lot of nerding on USB sticks!).

Berlin's cutest book collection for DJs and queer readers

Rounding off the store is probably Berlin's smallest bookstore, a super-curated range of around 50 titles.

For DJs we have books on DJ life, producing, studio design and the music industry. We also have books for queer readers and a decent archive of Butt Magazine.

In-Store Pickup of Online Orders

If you order from our online store you can select In-Store Pickup and collect from the store the same day. More details, including our out-of-hours collection service for DJs, are here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of records does SEVEN sell?

We specialise in underground, small-run and hard-to-find House and Techno, in all of their flavours, taking in Deep House, Dub Techno, Tech House, Minimal and Progressive House, plus a crate of Ambient and World Music curated by Rachel Noon. Our new-release section is the heart of the shop and our second-hand section is deliberately small. We work directly with small, local Berlin labels and artists, and for labels like Big Trouble Records, Layers and Happiness Therapy we are their home store in Berlin, with most or all of their catalogue in stock, some of it before the official release date. You will also find the full catalogues of our own labels SEVEN, A.2AUM and PRNCPTL. Every record in the shop is chosen by hand by our team of working DJs, so our curation is human, never an algorithm.

Do you have other genres outside of House and Techno?

No. House and Techno, in all of their flavours, is our focus. If you are after other genres, Record Store Berlin is a ten-minute walk away and has a completely different catalogue and curation, where you will find pretty much everything else.

Does SEVEN have listening stations?

Yes. We have four seated vinyl listening stations, all Technics SL-1200 Mk7 turntables with Ortofon cartridges and Sennheiser HD25 headphones, plus a cassette station and a CD station. We clean and test them every day, and there are free drinks while you dig.

Is SEVEN a good record shop for DJs?

It is run and staffed by working DJs, and we always have a friendly DJ in the store if you want to drop in for a chat, advice or help. Jonny Mojo is a vinyl-only DJ with an incredible knowledge of labels, genres and where they come from, and many DJs buy the releases he flags as a Mojo Tip on sight. Rachel Noon, a Pornceptual resident, is your go-to for advice on Rekordbox and organising your digital library. CRYME has incredible taste in dub house and dub techno, and ogtrues is there for the techno side. We are also an Ortofon authorised dealer with cartridges always in stock, carry Sennheiser and AIAIAI headphones and SanDisk USB sticks, and keep probably Berlin’s biggest in-store range of audio cables and adapters.

Can I listen to records before buying?

Yes. All of our vinyl listening stations are seated so you can take your time, and we keep the store relaxed and unhurried with free soft drinks and coffee. Many DJs and diggers settle in for a proper session of several hours, so please do not feel in a rush. Come when you have plenty of time and we can look after you all afternoon.

Does SEVEN sell second-hand vinyl?

Yes, but it is only a small second-hand collection. If second-hand is really your goal, our friends at OYE Records in Neukölln and Bikini Waxx in Kreuzberg have a much bigger second-hand selection. We keep two dig-crates at 3 and 5 euros alongside individually priced records, plus selections we have bought from other DJs like Eric Cloutier. Our main focus is current releases. For older music, the best place to look is our Re-Issue crate, full of gems from the 90s and early 2000s, often remastered so they sound perfect on a big system.

Where is SEVEN and which neighbourhood is it in?

We are at Torstrasse 220 in Berlin-Mitte, two minutes from Rosenthaler Platz (U8, and the M1, M8 and M12 trams). Mitte is an easy place to start or finish a Berlin digging day, and we are a short ride from the Kreuzberg and Neukölln record shops, so many DJs pair a visit to SEVEN with the Kottbusser Tor and Weserstrasse routes.

Can I buy online and collect in store?

Yes. Our whole collection is browsable online, with track previews on most releases, so if you are travelling to Berlin you can start your digging before you arrive. Look for releases carrying a Mojo Tip, Jonny Mojo’s personal recommendation that he gives sparingly to the very best records, and browse Top Shelf for his handpicked selection of the week. All of our curation is done by hand by working DJs, never by an algorithm. We often have only a few copies and popular records sell out fast, so you can buy online and choose collect in-store at checkout, and we will have them waiting for you when you arrive. We also ship vinyl and merch to more than 40 countries.
