AKA Blaze
Nizar Sarakbi is a Ukrainian-born, half-Syrian producer and DJ based in Vienna. Born in Kyiv and raised on a wide sonic spectrum from classical to dub, he co-runs the Sonic Resistance collective and shares overlooked musical finds through his own YouTube platform. His first solo EP, "Drop It," released in May 2023, marked his initial step as a solo producer, and his output has accelerated steadily since. His productions weave together hypnotic housey grooves, minimalist techno, early 2000s progressive sound, dub and broken beats into something that resists a single category.
His "Naked Groove" EP, released in November 2024 on Bristol's vinyl-only Sex Tapes From Mars (SEXTAPE008), spans tech house and electro, with a HearThuG remix of the lead track "Mon Amore." The record fuses minimalist techno with vintage hardware and robotic precision, an exercise in controlled chaos built around abstract, skipping grooves. Around the same time, a split EP with French producer BOOH landed on Paris's Outdom Records, drawing on electro, techno, minimal and dub. His track "In Ma House" appeared on Secretsundaze's 9FINITY imprint in early 2026, a deep, groove-forward cut built from driving machines and hypnotic spoken vocals. His most recent vinyl step is "Lab Boogie," his debut on Jupiter's Depth, described as "radiant, spring-loaded and alive with movement," drawing early support from Roza Terenzi, Jen Cardini and eoin dj. He also records in close partnership with Katia Curie, the two releasing the "High Tide" EP on Ukraine's Hypnohouse in January 2026, spanning tech house and breaks.
