About this record

Debut LP on London's Zeitnot from American producer Roman Debnar. Side one is stripped-back club techno, propulsive and minimal. Flip it over and you're into 90s IDM territory with broken beat rhythms that recall Autechre and Aphex Twin at their most intricate.

Debnar balances precision engineering with genuine dancefloor instinct across these ten tracks. The production is clean and detailed without feeling sterile, and there's real personality in how he breaks and reassembles his drum patterns. Nothing here feels like filler.

Zeitnot have put out consistently interesting work since their launch, and this debut LP sets a high bar. A proper album's worth of ideas, not just a collection of singles. Recommended for anyone who wants their techno thinking music and their thinking music still propulsive.
