Mees Javois

Debut on Düsseldorf's Primordial State - the label's 10th release. Four tracks of dancefloor techno from a young Dutch producer already on Ben Sims' radar.

Mees Javois arrives with the kind of stripped-back, propulsive sound that doesn't announce itself. These are tracks built for the floor, where space and pressure do the work. There's a maturity to the production here that belies the youth of the hand behind it - careful arrangement, a sense of dynamics, an ear for when to let silence work as hard as the kick.

Primordial State has quietly established itself as a hub for this kind of thinking. Ten releases in, the Düsseldorf label remains unfashionable and essential, giving room to producers who understand that techno's power isn't in novelty. Javois fits that sensibility precisely.
