About this record
How we run tings so! Tribal-infused and vocal-driven dub techno from forward-thinking producer Deadbeat. This 2-tracker works equally well as a weapon for the closing act or to hype up the cosy afterhours with proper class.
Deadbeat has long understood the art of restraint in dub techno - layering vocal fragments and rhythmic percussion with the patience of someone who knows a dance floor's emotional arc. These Kairos Sessions cuts distil that sensibility into two tracks that breathe, build, and unsettle in equal measure.
Kontakt Records continues its run of releasing producers who refuse easy categorisation. Dub techno this is, but one rooted in polyrhythmic traditions and human voice rather than the sterile post-industrial template. Essential for selectors working the margins between techno and deeper waters.
