About this record
Steve O'Sullivan returns under his Bluetrain alias with three essential dub techno cuts for Kontakt Records. Conquering Lion is the standout - hypnotic, stripped back, proper weightless stuff that sits in that space between meditation and motion. It's the kind of track that reminds you why minimal dub techno still moves.
O'Sullivan's work as Bluetrain sits comfortably in the deeper end of the techno pool. These three tracks lean into texture and space rather than urgency, built from careful layering of echo, reverb and the kind of restraint that takes real discipline. Kontakt Records has always been a home for this sensibility - patient, unrushed, focused on the details that matter in a dark room at 4am.
Limited splatter vinyl, KNT-49. The kind of record that rewards repeated listening.
