About this record
Tijuana brothers Soul Of Hex make their debut on Ryan Elliott's Berlin imprint Faith Beat with four heavy house tracks that sit comfortably in techno territory. 'Ritual' is the standout - a proper peak-time weapon that builds with restraint before dropping into hypnotic, locked-in grooves. The rest of the EP maintains that same weight and precision, no filler across the four cuts.
Faith Beat has built its reputation on finding that sweet spot between house fundamentals and darker, more muscular production aesthetics. This debut from Soul Of Hex slots right in - you're getting solid dancefloor tools here, not experiments or mood pieces. Both tracks reward repeated listens on the decks.
