Moody Mehran

Amsterdam-based Moody Mehran captures the atmosphere of a soft Mediterranean sunset perfectly. Just in time for late summer, the Dutch-Iranian artist debuts on SEVEN with four trance-infused, uplifting cuts, alongside a remix by Maruwa. The EP channels a distinct Balearic-leaning, '90s trance sensibility. Melodic, sun-drenched and emotionally direct. Built for open-air floors and festival moments, these tracks are driven by shimmering synth sequences, rolling basslines, crisp percussion and psychedelic sound design. It’s a sound reminiscent of trance’s golden era reduced to its essence: simple, euphoric, and highly effective.

A1 – Moody Mehran – Cruise Terminal Get on the cruise for a journey across five sun-soaked destinations. “Cruise Terminal” captures the spirit of classic ’90s trance with ease: expansive, emotive synth lines glide over a steady, pumping bass, while airy pads evoke that endless-horizon feeling. A perfect sundowner cut, made to ease dancefloors into warm summer nights.

A2 – Moody Mehran – Come On Now Built around evolving, tension-driven structures, “Come On Now” layers rapid minor-key arpeggios over a slamming four-to-the-floor groove. Playful vocal snippets punctuate the arrangement, pushing the track forward with a sense of urgency. Each offbeat clap adds momentum, locking dancers deeper into Moody Mehran’s tight, hypnotic groove.

A3 – Moody Mehran – Cruise Terminal (Maruwa Remix)

Frankfurt-based Maruwa is a natural fit for this release. Known for blending nostalgic ’90s and early 2000s trance aesthetics with a contemporary edge, she reimagines “Cruise Terminal” through a more progressive lens. Driving drum patterns and sharpened dynamics give the track a new punch, while preserving its uplifting, sunlit core. B1 – Moody Mehran – SURE! An intense, tribal-leaning workout that gets a crowd going for: “SURE!” Layered, tension-rising synth sequences collide with Latin percussions and raw, stabbing lead synths à la Da Hool. Sitting somewhere between straight-up trance and that unmistakable old-school Love Parade sound, this one hits with full conviction. B2 – Moody Mehran – Learn 2 Love “Learn 2 Love”. Dance 2 Trance. Slowing things down, the closing track of this EP leans into a more introspective, emotional space. Washed-out pads, with high-resonance sweeps, that tickle the brain stretch across the full arrangement, while a classic bassline and rolling drums gradually build anticipation. Dreamy and immersive, this is a track made for getting lost in.
