Sebastian Mullaert

Moody, melodic techno from Swedish maestro Sebastian Mullaert on Adriatique's Siamese label. This is understated, atmospheric work - the kind of record that rewards sustained listening rather than immediate gratification. Mullaert's production sits in that sweet spot between introspection and dancefloor function, with layers that unfold across the 45 RPM format.

Siamese has become a trusted outlet for this kind of thinking - patient, textural electronic music that trusts the listener. Mullaert's background in deeper, more experimental territories shines through; there's real melodic intelligence here beneath the minimal surface.

Lightship 612 is essential listening for anyone who understands that the best techno doesn't announce itself. It works in the margins, in the details, in the spaces between the kick and the snare.
