About this record

In 2020, legend Roza Terenzi launched Step Ball Chain, her own imprint, and this five-track EP is nothing short of a modern classic. Features collaborations with D. Tiffany and Saoirse across house, breakbeat and downtempo territories - a statement of intent that showcases her curatorial touch and production vision.

Terenzi's reputation in the underground speaks for itself, and STEP01 captures her at a pivotal moment: establishing her label while pushing the sound forward. The EP balances dancefloor sensibility with introspective, downtempo moments, never losing sight of the funkier, breakbeat-driven groove that anchors the release.

A definitive entry point to Step Ball Chain and proof that Terenzi's ear for talent and production remains unmatched. Essential.
