Pletnev

Dark, mysterious trancers that sit somewhere between techno's industrial weight and trance's ethereal reaches. Pletnev arranges these tracks with real thought - the sounddesign feels considered, layered, almost architectural in how each element finds its space. The Trancesetters Of Westphalia remix adds another dimension, pushing the material into different territory without losing that core sense of controlled darkness.

Pletnev's first outing on 999 Goosebumps is a solid introduction: techno that remembers trance's melodic vocabulary but strips away the obviousness. This is music for people who want their dancefloor moments shadowed, who appreciate production that rewards close listening. The kind of record that works equally well at 3am in a club or at home with headphones and the lights off.
