Abbeloos was exploring the outer reaches of minimal house and techno when most producers were chasing rave culture. These recordings capture a producer working in near-total isolation, distilling house music to its skeletal essence. The restored tape quality feels intentional rather than nostalgic - warm, slightly compressed, deeply focused.
Hoot Music's decision to press this at 45 RPM gives these tracks space to breathe. What might sound sparse at 33 becomes hypnotic at the slower speed, emphasizing the detail work and the producer's studied approach to groove. Essential archival work from the Belgian underground.
