About this record
Marquese three-tracker on Cologne's Rote Liebe imprint by Rebecca Von Kalinowsky from 2014. This one got played out a lot at Gewölbe back then. Stamped white label, no info on the sleeve - one for the heads.
A stripped-back house EP that sits somewhere between peak-hour club music and the kind of minimal aesthetic that defined Cologne's underground circuit in the early 2010s. Von Kalinowsky's production is restrained but purposeful, built for dancefloors that didn't need flash or novelty.
Rote Liebe was operating as an uncompromising outlet during this period, and this third release captures that ethos perfectly. The anonymity of the white label only adds to its appeal - music that speaks for itself, no marketing required.
