About this record
Jay Shepheard drops 2 original, neatly programmed percussive deep house cuts with 2 remixes. The Quiet Life EP finds the producer working in tight, stripped-back arrangements - restrained drums, considered use of space, and the kind of groove that rewards patient listening. This is tech house with a contemplative edge, where less is genuinely more.
Shepheard's originals sit comfortably in the minimal and dub techno sphere, rhythms that breathe rather than assault. The remix contributions add fresh perspectives without compromising the EP's coherent aesthetic. Chord Records CR003 captures a particular moment in underground production where precision and atmosphere run parallel.
