About this record
Raw, energetic Chicago-influenced house from DJ Split's debut on The Trip's Tessellate label. Three originals plus a remix, with 'Action Classa' standing out as the standout moment on the EP — tight, propulsive, built on the kind of stripped-back groove that drives dance floors.
Split's approach here sits comfortably in that lineage of Chicago house fundamentals: heavy on rhythm, smart with texture, never overthinking it. The Tessellate imprint has built its reputation on exactly this kind of direct, no-nonsense material, and this release sits naturally within that catalogue.
