About this record
Three-tracker on DJ Qu's own Strength Music Recordings that serves as a real masterclass in minimalism. Soma in particular strips house music back to its essentials - stripped percussion, space, and purpose. This is the kind of record that rewards close listening on a proper sound system.
DJ Qu has built Strength Music Recordings into a beacon for disciplined, uncompromising house and techno. Raw 7 sits comfortably within that vision: economical in its approach, generous in its detail. The production work here demonstrates why Qu's label has earned genuine respect in the underground.
A essential record for those who understand that minimalism in house music isn't about doing less - it's about doing exactly what's needed, nothing more.
