About this record
Andre Zimmer returns to his own Big Trouble imprint with The Weight, a four-track house EP that pulls from Toronto, Detroit and UK lineage without genuflecting to any single source. BT026 arrives May 2026 as essential furniture for dancefloors everywhere.
Zimmer's approach here is architectural rather than decorative. Each track slots neatly into the continuum between US minimalism and European house grammar, but the execution suggests someone who's spent time in all three cities and absorbed their particular rhythmic dialects. The weight of the title isn't metaphorical, these are tracks built on foundation rather than flourish.
Big Trouble has established itself as the imprint for Berlin producers who understand that underground house requires both rigour and restraint. This 12" EP confirms that principle in four tight, functional transmissions.
