About this record
Our collaborator Ackermann returns with chuggy, heavy beats across this EP on the French Syncrophone label. His whole catalog is sick af, and My Dub EP proves exactly why - four tracks of robust, propulsive techno that hit harder than most.
Ackermann strips back to essentials here: driving kick drums, hypnotic loops, and the kind of low-end weight that fills a room. There's a dub techno sensibility running through these cuts - plenty of space, plenty of groove, no unnecessary flourish. This is functional music that doesn't compromise on craft.
Syncrophone continues its run of quality releases with this one. If you've been sleeping on Ackermann's output, this EP is a solid entry point.
