Asphalt DJ

Asphalt DJ is the alias of Doron, a producer and DJ who came up in Tel Aviv before relocating to Berlin. He began his musical journey in his early twenties, developing his taste through clubbing and raves and tracing house music across its varied expressions, from classic American foundations through to the late 1990s UK scene.

His production career began in earnest in 2022 with the Amsterdam-based label Oddysee, where he released a debut four-track EP alongside fellow Tel Aviv producer Gzardin. That record, "Now & Zen" (ODDY001), set out on a trip of deep and propulsive club music, with the cuts landing at the intersection of a 1990s-rooted sound spectrum and contemporary sound design.

The two also recorded a podcast mix for the Oddysee platform and contributed their track "Sweaty Ride" to the "Hyper Love" VA compilation released by Tofistock. His solo debut followed in 2023 with an EP on the UK-based party series and record label Haŵs, and a further EP on R.A.N.D. Muzik later that same year. The Haŵs release, "Eternal Flower" (HAWS023), drew on 303 lines, raging percussion and stretched, dream-like synth work across four tracks. His four-tracker for Leipzig's R.A.N.D. Muzik, catalogue number RM12027, collected the tracks "Stereo Chambers," "Beauty Stranger," "Prayin' for Love" and "Makineta," and was welcomed by the label as a four-tracker of progressive house and breaks. He also appeared on the One Eye Witness compilation WITNESS04 with the track "Blades."

He returned to Oddysee in 2025 with a solo four-tracker titled "Double O" (ODDY002), on which he expanded his sonic palette across material described as moving from seductive after-hours bounce through to rhythmic explorations, all within a 1990s and 2000s sound spectrum. A further solo record, SNTMNT001, appeared on vinyl in 2026 and featured the tracks "Subline," "Underflow," "Muave" and "Gaze."
