The Fly Insect

Salford's The Fly Insect (aka Johnny Abstract) lands the third on Berlin's Lost Control 2097 with six tracks of acid electro and cybernetik mutant funk. This is raw, distorted material - corroded synth lines and warped drum machines locked into hypnotic grooves that feel like they're slowly falling apart and rebuilding themselves.

Abstract's work sits in that fertile space between Detroit acid purists and the harder, more chaotic end of contemporary electro. Lost Control 2097 has built a reputation for championing uncompromising machine music from beyond the usual capitals, and Decay EP fits that vision perfectly. These aren't tracks designed for broad appeal; they're built for deep listening and late-night dancefloor abuse.

Five years on from the label's inception, this third release proves the imprint's commitment to finding genuine voices in electronic music. The Fly Insect delivers exactly that - mutant, demanding, utterly convincing.
