About this record
Shonky's not only a G behind the decks - this four-track EP proves the maestro's skill in the studio. A tight, focused release that strips back to essentials: four cuts of minimal house and breakbeat craft, no filler.
Shonky's production work here sits somewhere between tech house precision and broken-beat sensibility. The tracks work at different tempos but share a disciplined approach to space and rhythm. These are tools for DJs who know what they're doing, but they're built with enough character to stand alone.
E.P.I continues to operate in the margins where minimal and breakbeat territory overlap. White label, no catalogue number - that kind of release. Best approached ears-first.
