About this record
Minimal on Shaka's Swiss Morris / Audio label from 2007. Deetron's 'Bleep My String Remix' on the flip - a genuinely essential pairing that captures both artists at their peak.
Shaka's original sits in that sweet spot where minimal becomes hypnotic rather than austere. The Swiss producer knew how to build tension across a track without resorting to obvious tricks, and Deetron's remix cuts straight to the bone - 'Bleep My String' is exactly what it says: the core reduced to its essential melodic hook, looped and fractured with surgical precision. This is minimal that rewards repeated listening.
Morris / Audio was consistently sharp during this period, and morris50 stands as a clean example of why the label mattered. Both sides work the room differently but never compromise on clarity or purpose. 2007 was when this sound still had genuine currency before it calcified into formula.
