About this record
Pablo Cantuarias launches OTRUNO, his Berlin art label, with this assured debut. Four club tracks plus a poem - a statement of intent that refuses the usual gatekeeping between gallery and dancefloor.
Cantuarias works across tech house and deep house with the kind of spatial awareness you'd expect from someone thinking across mediums. These tracks breathe, they've got room in them. Nothing feels rushed or formula-bound, even when the kick drum settles in for the long game. There's a restraint here that reads as confidence.
OTRUNO001 arrives as exactly what a first release should be: clear-headed, uncompromising, and genuinely curious about what comes next. The poem on vinyl is the giveaway - this is someone thinking about the LP as a complete object, not just a delivery system for tracks.
