About this record
Forward-thinking improvisational ambient music from Brooklyn's improv salon. This is made for deep listening.
29 Speedway documents collaborative sessions emerging from one of New York's most vital experimental spaces. UltraBody captures the label's commitment to real-time composition and ensemble exploration - musicians responding to one another without predetermined structure, building textural landscapes from improvisation rather than arrangement.
The work sits firmly in the experimental ambient lineage but with the unpolished immediacy of live ensemble work. These are not polished studio constructions but rather captured moments of collective listening and response. Essential for anyone serious about contemporary improvisation and ambient music on the margins.
