Smallville Records

Smallville Records is run by Julius Steinhoff and Stefan Marx, previously helmed by Steinhoff alongside Just von Ahlefeld (Smallpeople). The label grew out of the Smallville record shop in Hamburg, founded in 2005 by Steinhoff, Lawrence and Stella Plazonja, which closed its doors in 2021. Releases are distributed by wordandsound, alongside sublabels Down By The Lake and Fuck Reality.

Smallville's identity is built around its own fictive world: a hand-drawn, charmingly cute little city that appears across the label's entire visual identity.

Musically, the label is home to artists like Edward, Snad, Lb Honne and Christopher Rau, all contributing high-class minimal and deep house.
