Bass Cab

Bass Cab is the Berlin-based production duo of Daniel Paul and DJ Trike, two figures embedded in the German underground whose work has been synonymous with Cabinet Records across multiple decades. Cabinet, one of Germany's oldest and most persistent house labels, has been their primary home and creative axis, with the duo recording and producing out of Cabinet Studio in Berlin.

Their sound sits at the intersection of deep house, minimal techno and dub, drawing on analogue warmth, rolling basslines and a hypnotic, functional quality that prioritises the dancefloor without sacrificing texture. Tracks move between deep funk-inflected grooves and dub-drenched minimalism, with psychedelic undertones that keep things from ever feeling mechanical.

Recent output has continued along these lines with quiet consistency. The 2024 release cabinet 62 brought in Phazer for remix duties, a collaborator who appears across several of their records, and cabinet 65 followed that October. Their February 2025 record cabinet 66 - "Global Tribal," "Quick Response" and "Experts & Operators" - pushed further into tribal-inflected, rhythm-forward territory while staying rooted in the same analogue sensibility. Daniel Paul has also worked alongside Audio Werner on releases for Cabinet, the two sharing a mutual interest in the hypnotic overlap between minimal techno and house.

Cabinet Records has drawn support from the likes of Steve Bug and Ricardo Villalobos over its long run.
