About this record
Classic Villalobos stuff. This is the original "Heike", first released on LOFI Stereo back in 1998 - bumping, minimal house that still moves. Rawax have reissued and remastered it, bringing the track back into circulation on 12" vinyl at both 33 and 45 RPM.
Villalobos' early work defined the Berlin minimal sound that dominated clubs through the late 90s and 2000s. "Heike" is a perfect distillation: stripped-back, hypnotic, built for the dancefloor. The kind of record that doesn't grab you immediately but gets under your skin after the third spin.
This reissue respects the original while giving it the clarity it deserves. Essential for anyone serious about minimal techno, or anyone who remembers why that sound mattered in the first place.
