Ricardo Villalobos

Infamous Ricardo repress for all the 808 queens out there. 25 years of 808 The Bassqueen.

This is the reissue of a foundational Rawax release that defined minimal house through its obsessive, hypnotic use of the 808 drum machine. Villalobos strips everything back to its essentials - bass, rhythm, repetition - and builds from there. The kind of record that sounds equally at home in a sweaty basement or a 6am dancefloor moment. Essential if you missed it the first time around.

Rawax has always championed the deeper end of house and techno. This reissue respects the original while making it available to a new generation of dancers and producers who understand that sometimes the best ideas need nothing more than time, space, and a properly locked 808.
