About this record

Michelle steps into new territory on Blackout Uprising, a dancefloor-focused album that marks a departure from her earlier work. Her live setup - a hybrid of programmed sequences and live instrumentation - gives this record a restless, textured energy. Acoustic elements weave through the tracks, creating unexpected depth within the techno and house structures. It's the sound of an artist in flux, unafraid to let acoustic textures sit uncomfortably alongside 4/4 kick drums.

Released on DJ Masda's CABARET imprint, Blackout Uprising sits at the crossroads of techno, house, and bass music. Michelle's approach here is deliberately fractured: there's no single voice guiding the album, but rather competing interests - the dancefloor imperative versus the intrusion of organic sound design. It's restless music for restless dancefloors.

Cabinet Recordings continues its track record of artist development and formal risk-taking. This is contemporary club music that refuses to sit still.
