About this record
Big, tech trance steppers leaning towards sharp electro sounddesign. Matthew Dexter's an exciting emerging voice, and this one lands on Quest's La Nota Del Diablo imprint with real purpose.
Arid Land sits firmly in progressive techno territory - hypnotic builds, precise percussion work, and that particular blend of Italo sensibility with contemporary tech production that Quest has been championing. Dexter's design choices are deliberate: stripped-back arrangements that let individual elements breathe, metallic textures that cut rather than soothe, and enough rhythmic tension to keep a peak-time floor moving without compromise.
A proper introduction to an artist worth following. Three tracks, one 12", September 2024.
