Dubtape

Dubby, bubbly, techy - that's the Sonic Room in three words. Dubtape pulls off something tricky here: minimal house with genuine dub sensibility, all those filtered vocals and space-age reverb tails sitting comfortably alongside tight, techy grooves. It's techno that breathes, house music with a wet, underwater quality.

Bosom LTD has built a reputation for this kind of thing - producers who understand that minimal doesn't mean cold or empty. The eight tracks here shift between stripped-back drums and synth work that feels more like sound design than showboating. You get the sense Dubtape spent real time in the mixing booth, letting frequencies bubble up and dissolve. Limited edition 12" - the format still matters for music like this.
