SEVEN Label Co-Founder interviewed in UK’s Broke Magazine

This week the UK based Broke Magazine ran a in depth interview with SEVEN label co-founder Glenn Elliott, offering a closer look at how the Berlin-based imprint is reshaping the underground techno scene. Elliott explained that SEVEN isn’t only about releasing music, but about building a community rooted in kindness, empathy, and respect.

“If you make or play great music and bring kindness and uplifting vibes, you’re part of the family.”

Representation is central to that mission, with at least half of the roster across releases, mixes and events made up of Queer and FLINTA* artists.

Rather than imitating Berlin’s many well-established Queer, FLINTA* and sex-positive parties, SEVEN has carved out its own space. Elliott and his partner, DJ and producer CRYME, have built a label that reflects their diverse circle of friends, offering a home for collaboration, connection and creativity with people of every sexuality and gender welcome.

At the same time, Elliott spoke candidly about Berlin’s underground landscape. While the city remains a global hub, rising costs are putting pressure on small and mid-sized promoters, and many fans have limited money to spend.

“Berlin still rules the underground world, but rising costs are a real strain for small and mid-size promoters.”

SEVEN’s future plans reflect its spirit of experimentation and inclusivity

SEVENVA02, just released, features seven tracks from artists new to the label including Carmen Electro, Najeh, Pink Concrete, 1morning, Byron Yeates, Zombies in Miami and Mohajer.

Looking further ahead, SEVENVA03, arriving in July 2026, celebrates emerging talent and proves that big names aren’t needed to create magic. In October 2026, SEVENVA04 will be curated entirely by Berlin’s House Queen Cinthie and will showcase only FLINTA* artists, a first for the label.

A very special release, SEVEN7000LTD, also marks the label’s birthday with a reissue of CRYME’s The Backroom EP, including “London Boy” with remixes by artists MCR-T, JakoJako, Stef de Haan and Roza Terenzi.

Elliott recalled the fun behind the Stretch & Repeat video by Solène Ballesta, a playful 80s-fitness inspired project, and hinted at more visual work to come when the right track sparks the idea.

Beyond music and visuals, SEVEN has recently secured a new home on Torstraße in Mitte, a ground-floor shop and creative hub designed with queer interior design studio Yont. The space will host events, meetups and serve as a safe base for small collectives and diverse groups in Berlin’s music scene.

Fair treatment of artists is another cornerstone of SEVEN’s approach. Every remix is paid for, revenue splits favour artists at 70/30, and invoices are settled quickly—often on the same day.

“We pay for every remix, we split royalties 70/30 in favour of the artist, and we try to settle invoices the same day. It’s important to get the basics right and treat artists with respect.”

The label’s “Smile When You Dance” T-shirts have become a favourite, and in the new store fans will be able to customise their own clothing with SEVEN designs, creating unique pieces to take home.

Elliott also offered words of encouragement to emerging FLINTA* artists, urging them to believe in themselves, push past self-doubt and share their music boldly.

“Believe in yourself. You belong here, and you deserve to be heard.”

The Broke Magazine feature paints SEVEN as more than a record label—it’s a movement shaped by founders Glenn and CRYME’s shared values of kindness, diversity and fairness. With ambitious new projects ahead and a growing creative community, SEVEN continues to light up dance floors while building something deeper and lasting.
