In his new interview with PLAYY Magazine, CRYME gives a heartfelt look behind the scenes of SEVEN. He co-founded the label to champion Queer and FLINTA* voices in house and techno.
He speaks openly about the mission behind SEVEN and the unique musical energy it brings to the dancefloor. “The musical vision for SEVEN focuses on the intersection of House and Techno. Collaborating with artists who are known for a different genre is really key.” That blend of sounds and identities is something CRYME loves to explore. This passion is evident both in the studio and on stage.
The interview also touches on the upcoming SEVEN showcase at ELSE in Berlin, where CRYME will play a back-to-back set with Slin, and reveals plans for ten EPs, three VAs and the launch of SEVEN’s new record store and community space on Torstrasse later this year.
“The dancefloor vibe is easy – it’s all smiles and happy faces. That’s where our label strapline comes from: ‘Smile When You Dance.’”
There’s also a glimpse into future SEVEN releases. This includes a collab EP with Ben Reymann. Another highlight is a standout March release from emerging artists Posture x Sparkly Pony. The release features remixes from 131bpm and eoin DJ.
If you want to know more about the heart, hustle, and community behind SEVEN, this interview is a must-read.
