CRYME revealed the origins of SEVEN in a hotel room in Tallinn, Estonia, inspired by his football roots:

“The name SEVEN comes from my old football jersey—I played for 15 years and always wore number seven. It also symbolises luck in many cultures, so it felt right.”

He also emphasised SEVEN’s commitment to creating an inclusive community:

“SEVEN focuses on the intersection between house and techno. It’s queer and FLINTA-inclusive, but everyone’s welcome. We’re building an open community and a safe space where artists can freely share and express themselves.”*

Discussing the label’s ethos of positivity, CRYME touched on SEVEN’s slogan, “Smile When You Dance“:

“Sometimes the techno scene feels very serious. We just wanted to remind everyone it’s okay to smile and enjoy themselves. Dancing should bring joy, so why not show it?”
