CRYME – Berlin-Based DJ & Producer Biography
Personal Background
CRYME is a DJ and producer born and raised in Berlin, Germany. In his youth, he was passionate about sports, spending fifteen years playing football and even considering a career in it. In his early twenties, however, he discovered Berlin’s vibrant club scene—a turning point that shifted his focus to music.
His friend Dave Groenweld (the co-founder of the Concrete Techno Collective) introduced him to DJing by showing him how to use a mixer and CDJs at home. This hands-on introduction sparked CRYME’s enthusiasm; he soon acquired his own DJ equipment and began honing his skills.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he practiced by streaming DJ sets from his bedroom, often to just a handful of friends, realising he’d found his true calling.
An influential moment cementing his musical direction was seeing house icon Honey Dijon perform in 2018; CRYME recalls thinking “wow, I want to do my version of that,” inspiring him to pursue DJing seriously.
Aside from music, CRYME’s personal life intertwines with his career. He co-founded his own record label with his partner, Glenn Elliott, who is also his manager. This collaborative venture reflects both his professional vision and the supportive role of personal relationships in his artistic journey.
CRYME’s Career History
CRYME’s DJ career took off in the early 2020s, quickly growing from local gigs to international stages. After lockdowns lifted, he performed live in Berlin’s underground venues, building a reputation for energetic sets.
By 2022, he had started producing his own tracks, releasing several EPs and tracks on various platforms. His first productions appeared on compilations like Pornceptual’s tenth-anniversary release.
In late 2023, CRYME launched his own label, SEVEN, as a platform for his music and like-minded artists. The debut release on SEVEN was his five-track EP Hold On (November 2023), featuring remixes from respected names such as Cinthie and Obscure Shape. This EP solidified his presence in the scene and set the tone for the label’s uplifting, genre-blending tracks.
HOLD ON was quickly followed by a second EP, Reality Rush, in January 2024, featuring collaborations with Christoph Faust and Mesmer.
As CRYME’s releases gained traction, so did his bookings. He became a fixture in Berlin’s queer underground scene, earning residencies at renowned club nights like Pornceptual and Amsterdam’s De Reünie party series.

He has shared stages with artists such as Honey Dijon and Palms Trax and through his label SEVEN works with artiists like Deetron and Cinthie.
CRYME’s Musical Style
CRYME is known for a distinctive musical style that bridges house and techno. Having initially focused on techno, he gradually infused more house influences into his sets, creating a hybrid sound often described as operating at “the interface between house and techno.”
His sets blend the driving, bass-heavy energy of techno with the uplifting vocals and joyous vibes of house music.
A hallmark of CRYME’s performances is their pace and infectious positivity. His technical flair behind the decks has earned him praise for his dynamic and creative mixing style.
Many of CRYME’s sets feature vocal-infused tracks—including his own productions—which add emotional depth alongside relentless grooves. The result is a rhythmic, vocal-driven experience that builds a happy, love-filled dance floor atmosphere.
