Lara Fein is a Berlin-based DJ and self-described sound archaeologist whose path to the decks was a gradual one. Raised in a family of music lovers, she developed a genuine and lasting connection to sound from an early age, something that continues to shape how she listens and plays today.
As a dedicated digger, Lara moves across a wide range of territory: obscure Japanese library records, German proto-electronic experiments, and the many branches of jazz all find their way into her collection. Her private listening tends toward the introspective and the eclectic, while her sets bring a different energy to the floor, centred on the warmth and momentum of house music with nods to the harder, more technoid edges of the spectrum. There is a clear sense of narrative in how she moves between eras, moods, and influences, always with an ear for emotional depth alongside the physical pull of a good groove.
In 2025, Lara co-founded the label A Strange Child alongside Skee Mask, adding another dimension to her ongoing engagement with electronic music culture.
