Andu Simion

Andu Simion has been a steady and committed presence in Romanian electronic music for some time now, building his profile through consistent releases on labels around the world and a network of collaborations that speak to his place within the wider underground community. Rooted in Ploiești, a city whose industrial character can be heard threading through his productions, his sound sits somewhere between deep, hypnotic groove and sharply textured acid, informed by the Romanian electronic tradition but with its own distinct character.

As a founding member of Lisière Collectif, Andu developed an early feel for guiding dancefloors through extended, considered journeys, holding the balance between tension and release with genuine restraint. That same approach carries through into his productions, which have appeared on vinyl for Atipic and Atipic Lab, the labels run by Priku, as well as Detroit's Moods & Grooves under the stewardship of Mike Grant. His wider catalogue spans Howl Records, Palinoia, Polen, Particular, Cueva Records, Diffuse Reality, Insound Recordings, and Cakeman, among others, and he works across several aliases including A Dublu, Anduli, Timbral Shift, and Two Metromaniac Guys.

Photography runs alongside his music practice, shaping the attention to texture, framing, and atmosphere that carries through everything he does. As a DJ, he has played across a broad circuit of European cities including Oslo, Paris, London, Budapest, Brussels, and many Romanian venues, each appearance adding another chapter to a body of work built on craft and quiet dedication.
