Worthy

Classic minimal tech house two-tracker from Worthy on Cologne's Trapez Ltd, the sublabel of TRAUM Schallplatten. This is the kind of record that defined the sound of stripped-back, groove-oriented minimal techno in the late 2000s - stripped to essentials but never sparse, built on locked-in drums and textural details that reward close listening.

WOrthy's approach here sits in that sweet spot between pure techno rigour and the swagger of proper tech house. The tracks breathe with space, letting each element - a filtered chord, a hi-hat shuffle, a low-slung bassline - occupy its own territory before the whole thing locks together. Trapez Ltd established itself as the imprint for this kind of thinking: not experimental for its own sake, but music that trusts the dancefloor intelligence of its audience.

Originally released January 2009, this 12" at 45 RPM captures that moment when minimal was genuinely minimal - before it became shorthand for sparse. Essential for collectors of underground Cologne production.
