About this record
Rare mid-90s US garage house promo bootleg, unofficial and undocumented. Banned from sale on Discogs. The Musk Men rework of Sade sits alongside Junior Vasquez's interpretation of Rosie Gaines, with a Knuckles Mix of Love Train rounding out the plate. Not On Label material - the kind of thing that circulated in New York clubs, Chicago basements, and Berlin DJ bags without ever hitting a distributor's manifest.
This is deep garage house territory, the sound of DJs working outside official channels, remixers known only by first name or studio alias, and producers who understood the difference between a radio edit and a floor weapon. The bootleg aesthetic feels right here: minimal packaging, unclear provenance, pure function. You'd find this in a crate at a specialist record shop, not a major retailer.
A document of late-90s underground remix culture when the bootleg 12" was still the lifeblood of club distribution.
