London legend Steve O'Sullivan on Berlin's Sushitech. Four untitled minimal techno cuts from 2015. This is Part 2 of the Interchangeable Patterns series - we've got Part 1 somewhere in the crates too.
O'Sullivan's approach here is stripped back and hypnotic. These untitled tracks don't announce themselves; they unfold. Built on the kind of restrained percussion and atmospheric depth that defined his work through the 2010s, the EP moves through textures rather than drops. Sushitech's aesthetic - precise, patient, Berlin-aligned but distinctly its own thing - suits his method perfectly.
If you know his work through Pork Recordings, Dolly, or M_nus, this sits comfortably in that world. Minimal techno that trusts the listener to stay with it.
