About this record
Rare crate digger material - this is the sought-after 1998 two-tracker on Hester's cult UK label Moon Music. Only three releases ever came out on Moon Music, and they're all highly coveted now. This one especially carries that weird, mysterious edge that makes it a genuine find.
Paul Hester's approach to deep and tech house sits in that twilight zone between meditative and unsettling. The production is spare but textured, letting space do as much work as the sound itself. This is the kind of record that rewards repeated listens, where details emerge from the mix that weren't there before.
Moon Music remains one of the most under-the-radar deep house labels of the late 90s, and MOON 002 is a testament to that era's commitment to strange, uncompromising releases. If you've been hunting for this one, the search is over.
