About this record
Four dazzling cuts of future-minded machine funk. From swinging techno to breakbeat and electro, all glued together by that 909 house vibe.
Otis delivers purposeful production here - each track feels deliberate without sacrificing the loose, elastic groove that makes house music actually move. The 909 sits fat throughout, anchoring these experiments in proper dancefloor logic rather than abstract experimentation.
Partisan continues its run of intelligent house releases with this one. If you've been tracking underground machine funk over the last few years, you'll recognize the lineage: there's DNA here from the Detroit-Berlin axis, but Otis pushes it somewhere distinctly his own.
