About this record
Romanian deep house veteran Mihai Popoviciu returns to Steve Bug's Sublease Music with a three-tracker designed for the heads. What I Need is stripped-back, hypnotic stuff - the kind of record that rewards close listening and repeated plays.
Popoviciu has been shaping the Eastern European house sound for two decades, and this 2025 release sits perfectly within his aesthetic: minimal, propulsive, rooted in genuine groove rather than flash. Sublease Music has become the obvious home for this kind of thinking - Bug's label champions artists who understand that deep house is about patience, texture, and the long view.
Three cuts of uncompromising house music. No filler.
