About this record
Fourth instalment on the Wax Only series by Poker Flat Recordings, bringing together Mennie and Julien Sandre for a pair of tracks that sit comfortably in the deeper end of the house spectrum. Night Riots EP trades in the kind of patient, hypnotic tech-house that rewards repeated listening - the sort of record you'll find yourself reaching for late into the night.
Poker Flat's Wax Only series has become a reliable marker of quality in the deeper house world, and this pairing doesn't disappoint. Both tracks maintain a restless energy beneath their surface calm, built from the kind of considered production choices that distinguish serious work from the merely competent. The production here is clean without being sterile, groove-focused without sacrificing texture.
A solid addition to any collection that values substance over trend.
