Ethyl

Deep house as it should be. Soulful, musical, driving and gently hypnotic without a clichéd key in sight.

Ethyl's debut on Tsuba Records is a masterclass in restraint and groove. Four tracks that unfold with the kind of compositional thoughtfulness you rarely hear in modern deep house - the kind that rewards repeated listening on the dancefloor as much as at home. There's a musicality here that refuses easy categorisation; these aren't loops stacked on loops, but proper arrangements with breathing space, with real instruments sitting comfortably alongside electronics.

Tsuba has always championed this approach - deep house that remembers its roots in soul and funk, that understands dynamics and development. The White EP stands as a quietly confident statement from an artist uninterested in trend-chasing, focused instead on the slow build and the subtle hypnosis of a track that knows exactly where it's going.
