About this record
Classic mid-2000s tech house from Chris Pascoe, reissued on Evasive Records. This is proper underground stuff - the kind of record that defined the period when tech house was still genuinely about craft rather than formula.
Pascoe's approach here sits in that sweet spot between deep house warmth and tech house precision. The production is clean but not clinical, with enough space in the mix to let each element breathe. You can hear the studio thinking on this one - considered rather than rushed.
EVA013 represents Evasive Records at their best: digging into the archive and bringing back records that matter. Originally released in 2004, Mong Juice has aged well because it wasn't chasing trends. If you're after that sound - the one that actually worked in proper clubs, not just in theory - this reissue is essential.
