This second volume follows their 2023 debut with six untitled tracks that sit somewhere between fractured electronics and weightless atmospherics. There's a meditative quality here, even when the processing gets dense and the rhythmic elements start to splinter.
Chestnut People operate in that zone where IDM's maximalist impulses meet ambient restraint. The tracks breathe despite their technical density, offering enough sonic space that you're not fighting to follow the arrangement. It's the kind of record that rewards close listening but doesn't demand it.
NAFF continues to make thoughtful, patient choices with their roster. This is a label that understands the difference between complexity and complication, and Volume 2 bears that out.
