BCUC

Fifth album from Soweto's BCUC (Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness). Ten tracks of Afro-psychedelic gospel sermon delivered at punk velocity. This is music that doesn't negotiate - it preaches, it burns, it moves.

BCUC have built their reputation on uncompromising spiritual electricity. The Road Is Never Easy channels that same restless energy, fusing gospel urgency with fractured funk grooves and psychedelic textures that feel genuinely disorientating. There's a rawness here that resists polish; the production breathes room for the vocals to land hard, for the rhythms to breathe and twist.

Out Here Records has become essential for this kind of work - music that sits outside the usual channels, rooted in South African creative practice but speaking to something much larger. This is a record that demands attention, not background consumption.
