Ines Cartas
she/her · DJ
From Mexico City, Mexico, based in Berlin, Germany
Inés Cartas grew up in Mexico City and has made Berlin her home for the past 14 years. Over that time she has become a familiar presence in the city's underground, playing at Heideglühen, Wilde Renate, and Club der Visionaere, among others, while also taking her sets further afield to venues including Hoppetosse in Berlin, Red58 in Barcelona, Oven Club in Valencia, Radio Pirate in Paris, and Fünk in Mexico City.
Beyond the booth, Inés has been involved with the System Error music label and helped organise the Plural parties and the Microclub AfterHours gatherings, smaller and more intimate events that reflect her genuine investment in community and underground culture.
A strictly vinyl-only selector, Inés moves freely between house, techno, acid, breaks, and whatever else feels right in the moment, drawing from old and new records without tying herself to a fixed sound. Her sets are shaped more by feeling and the energy in the room than by any particular formula, and that openness tends to make for an honest and unpredictable listen.
